CERN's mission is to facilitate the quest of scientists and engineers in their search for answers to questions about the universe, and in the process: train (young scientists), unite (people from many nations), and push technology and engineering to the limit. In order for our ‘users’ (the scientists and engineers) to be able to focus on this job efficiently they must be supported by a “best in class” service organization, using simple, comprehensive, coherent, smooth and efficient processes and tools. It is our mission to introduce, operate and improve the service infrastructure that makes this happen.
